Charlie Slavík & The Nightingales
The Charlie Slavík Revue has been successfully and with great acclaim for more than ten years presenting rock n roll and blues in all shades of these enchanting genres to both domestic and European audiences. The music of this quartet is uncompromisingly pulsating, spontaneous, played with unrestrained energy. Another of Charlie Slavík's faces is similarly colorful and imaginative, this time presented in conjunction with the charismatic female vocal trio The Nightingales. It is composed of the exceptional singers Tereza Havelková, Radka Topinková and Josefína Čermáková. The predominantly original repertoire is a characteristic feature of CHSR performances. Charlie's latest CD A Nice Reminder was recorded with renowned American musicians at the famous Sound Emporium in Nashville, Tennessee.
Charlie Slavík is a composer, a lyricist, and the most-recognized harmonica player in the Czech Republic. In 2013, he became the only Czech in history to participate in the prestigious international blues competition IBC in Memphis, where he advanced to the semifinals. His ability to use instruments across genres is evidenced by the number of musical projects, on which he recorded as sideman. He performs with a number of domestic and foreign bands not only in Europe, but also in the USA—and he also has many film music recordings to his credit. He is the corporate player of the German company Seydel, the oldest manufacturer of harmonicas in the world.
