JAZZ OF 4 CONTINENTS
Alf Carlsson / Jiří Kotača Quartet (SWE,CZ,SK)
Swedish guitarist Alf Carlsson and czech trumpet player Jiří Kotača founded very interesting jazz band. Leaders of the quartet first met in Rotterdam during their studies. Alf Carlsson comes from Stockholm, where he already is an established player on the local scene. Apart from his own projects, such as the Swedish Alf Carlsson Quintet, he cooperates with last year's semifinalist of the greatest jazz competitions in the world (Thelonius Monk Competition) - Tippan Phasuk or Mai Agan Trio. Trumpeter Jiří Kotača cooperates with well-known names of czech scene - Kamil Slezák, Vincent Kummer and Radek Zapadlo (bands Heart of Dixie, Drumless Quartet and Cotatcha Orchestra). Quartet mixes lyrical influences of Scandinavian music and contemporary New York and European jazz with a hint of Moravian and Slovakian folklore, which brings a unique combination of sound and original interpretation of its own and cover songs. Alf Carlsson - guitar, Jiří Kotača - trumpet, Peter Korman - double bass, Kristián Kuruc - drums.
