Tomas Jochmann Trio
Tomáš Jochmann Trio represents the forefront of the Czech jazz scene, delivering the finest of mainstream jazz and Brazilian Latin jazz – in a form of musical expression with a profound emphasis on rich harmonic and melodic depth. Leading the trio is Slovak pianist Tomáš Jochmann, whose artistry has been shaped by great masters such as Barry Harris, Kenny Barron, and Karel Růžička – a prominent figure of Czech jazz, whose influence remains deeply embedded in the trio’s sound. On double bass, the exceptional Josef Fečo brings a natural sense of groove and melody, while the drums are handled by Martin Šulc, an internationally acclaimed drummer and a graduate of the prestigious Berklee College of Music. Both Fečo and Šulc have previously collaborated with Karel Růžička, giving the trio a unique sense of continuity – audible in its colorful sound, nuanced phrasing, and intuitive interplay.
