The Survivors play Ska and Reggae

The Survivors play Ska and Reggae

Sunday 19/01/2025 from 20:00

The Survivors is a new band surviving our present times by playing music that has already survived other times or is yet to survive future times. The Survivors‘ story begins back in 2017 at a concert in Saudi Arabia, when they experienced a sand storm and were lucky to have survived the impact of a falling stage ramp with lights. Since then, through music, they’ve been channeling—and surviving—the causes of other, albeit slightly less dramatic, events that life throws our way.

For their January concert at the Jazz Dock, they’ve prepared a special repertoire consisting mostly of old Jamaican pieces by The Skatalites and The Ethiopians, as well as some lesser-known songs by the legendary Bob Marley. Joining them on stage will be saxophonist Cyrille Oswald, with whom they’ve recently released a joint live album, First Live Round, recorded at the Jazz Dock in March 2023.

Jiří Slavík – lead vocal, keyboards, saxophone

Jiří Levíček – vocals, keyboards, melodica

Jakub Tengler – vocals, drums

Cyrille Oswald – vocals, tenor saxophone
