The KUH Trio

The KUH Trio is a Czech-Austrian jazz band consisting of double bassist František Uhlíř, drummer Jaromír Helešic and leader Austrian guitarist Edi Köhldorfer. The trio was formed in 2018 and by 2019 they were already touring Germany and Austria. In 2020, the CD Old Souls was released on the Austrian label ATS Records, receiving numerous positive reviews and featuring jazz ballads as well as more instrumentally demanding compositions. Of the ten tracks, six were composed by Uhlíř and four by Köhldorfer. The latter uses both electric and acoustic guitar to expand the tonal spectrum of the group’s sound. Köhldorfer studied classical guitar at the University of Graz and jazz guitar at the Vienna Conservatory. He has worked with such jazz greats as Biréli Lagréne, Dee Dee Bridgewater and Barbara Dennerlein. He is also active in the fields of classical and pop music. He has recorded on many albums under his own name and has performed on every continent except Australia. The trio's latest repertoire features jazz standards in original arrangements.
