SUPER TRIO Charette / Štveráček / Šoltis (USA/CZ/SK)
This Super Trio evolved very organically when NYC organist Brian Charette started working often in Praha with Young Lions, Dano Soltis and Ondrej Stveracek. The trio has it’s foundations in Jazz but uses subtle electronics and mashed up breaks to defy genre. The chemistry of this great organ trio is sublime. The trio´s leader, Grammy nominated organist Brian Charette, has become an integral part of the New York jazz scene in the last 20 years. Brian has recorded and played with everyone from Joni Mitchell to Lou Donaldson. He was just named runner up in the Downbeat 2012 Critics Poll in the „Organ: rising star“ category and has been writing regularly for Keyboard Magazine for the past 2 years. The extraordinarily gifted tenor saxophonist, Ondřej Štveráček enjoys freedom of jazz with a similar exhilaration as the remaining up-and-coming Czech musicians. He has collaborated with many outstanding musicians; Jerry Bergonzi, Dave Liebman, George Mraz, and Joe Cohn. His CD, „What’s Outside“ was nominated for an Zlaty Andel in 2012 as „The Best Album of the Year“. Dano Solitis is one of the most sought after drummers on the European scene because of his energetic, flexible yet sensitive style. He is a founding member of top Czech jazz group, Vertigo, which won a Zlaty Andel for their debut album. Dano also plays in the very popular Slovak pop band, IMT Smile.
