Štěpánka Balcarová & Jugendjazzorchester Sachsen
Jugendjazzorchester Sachsen has existed since 1993 in constantly changing line-ups. It is a big band made up of young German talents, and over the past three decades many of today's well-known and sought-after German soloists have passed through its ranks. The artistic direction of the orchestra changes every year depending on which composer JJO Sachsen is working with. In the past, they were jazz giants like Carla Bley, Ed Partyka, Malte Schiller or Jan Schreiner. In the summer, the orchestra will be artistically led by the Czech trumpeter and composer Štěpánka Balcarová, so during the concert her older compositions and the premiere of the new suite Kairos, which the author wrote especially for this ensemble, will be heard.
