The captivating, ethereal and majestic Mammal Hands (Jordan Smart – sax, Nick Smart – piano, and Jesse Barrett – drums/perc) have carved out a refreshingly original sound from a disparate array of influences: drawing on spiritual jazz, north Indian, folk and classical music to create something inimitably their own. Shadow Work is their third album and the first they have self-produced. According to Access All Areas: “Mammal Hands create a sound that lies somewhere between GoGo Penguin and early Portico Quartet.”
