Originální Pražský Synkopický Orchestr
The most authentic Early American Jazz, Blues and Dance Music of the 1920's you can hear in Prague today. The Original Prague Syncopated Orchestra (OPSO) is the leading professional ensemble in the Czech Republic, focusing on the authentic interpretation of early 1920's American Jazz, Blues and Dance Music. The OPSO is considered stylistically the purest and artistically most convincing ensemble of its kind. Thanks to the use of historical instruments, original playing techniques and sophisticated arrangements, the sound of the orchestra is both uniquely authentic and original at the same time. The orchestra was founded in 1974 by trumpeter, pianist and musicologist Pavel Klikar, a leading expert in the genre. In 2018, the “management” took their young followers Jan Pospíšil and Michael Chomiszak on board with the help of pianist and co-founder, Jiří Gilík.
