Oran Etkin & Band I Mladí ladí jazz 2023
Oran Etkin is a masterful New York jazz musician, an accomplished clarinetist and Grammy Award winner. Into his energetic jazz work, he injects musical influences from Africa, the Far East, Europe and Israel, where he also hails from. It could be said that Oran Etkin is a pioneer of world music in its truest sense, as he incorporates an unusually rich spectrum of musical traditions into his palette of harmonies and motifs. In Central Europe, we have a lot to offer in terms of musical traditions. Accordingly, for this unique performance at the Jazz Dock, an improvised ensemble will be formed with several prominent Czech and Slovak musicians. Oran likes to absorb various local influences and knows how to use them in unexpected and subtle ways. Special attention should be paid to the Roma musicians, whose music Oran has a close relationship to and strongly reflects in the project. Thus, you can expect an interesting intercultural and international musical encounter accompanied by clarinet, percussion, accordion, vocals, double bass and dulcimer.
