Najponk is among the leading Czech pianists who will perform at Jazz Dock with his outstanding trio. His music comes from a harmonious blend of classic jazz and swinging rhythm and blues. Without unnecessary avant-garde experiments, his playing offers a distinctive reinterpretation of jazz classics that excels in imaginativeness, virtuosity and enthusiasm. The trio (piano, double bass and drums) plays straightforward, acoustic jazz standards, as well as original compositions. For this special concert in May, Najponk has invited two incredible musicians from Scandinavia: Swedish bassist Hans Backenroth and legendary Danish jazz drummer Alex Riel. This international trio will perform well-known standards from The Great American Songbook.
