Michito Sanchez & Czechiando

World-renowned percussionist Michito Sanchez has performed on multiple Grammy Award winning recordings and has toured the world throughout his extensive career as a “freelance” multi-percussionist based in Los Angeles, working with the biggest names in the music industry in live, studio and film situations, including The Rolling Stones, Stevie Wonder, James Taylor, Michael Bublé, Hans Zimmer, Danny Elfman, Don Henley, Glen Frey and Joe Walsh, to name but a few! In 2006, Michito moved to Las Vegas where he tried his hand as a band leader, proving that he had what it takes with The Michito Sanchez Salsa Orchestra. The band quickly became a hit, selling out venues on the Las Vegas strip and, in 2007, took the inaugural title at the 1st annual Las Vegas Music Awards as “Best Salsa Band.” Michito left Vegas in 2019, but not before forming a multitude of successful bands like Dragon Fly (pop/rock) and What da que? (Rock en español), both alternating house bands at the Las Vegas Tropicana—and Bahia, the Brazilian/Latin Jazz house band at the Las Vegas Rio Hotel and Casino. Now living in Europe, Michito is extending his talents and creative mind to form a new project “Czechiando,” which in Spanish means “check it out!” The Fusion/Latin Jazz band is a culmination of Michito’s career picking songs from the inspiring jazz artists he has had the honor of collaborating with over the years—artists like Joe Zawinul, Tito Puente, George Benson, Herbie Hancock, Arturo Sandoval, David Garfield, Joe Sample, Willie Bobo, Poncho Sanchez, Dave Valentin and others. The band’s compositions span the musical globe.
