Machina Mundi
Mechanical pieces of music that create an etherical, harmonical universe. After releasing the album "Zeme" (featuring Lionel Loueke), Luboš Soukup decided to put together a brand-new Scandinavian jazz quartet with a focus on creating a new harmonic and rhythmical universe. Machina Mundi draws inspiration from the legendary band Weather Report (the use of a variety of synthesizers, keyboards, and effects), as well as Chris Potter’s Underground project. The compositions of Luboš Soukup are elegant and challenging, but well-accepted by the audience thanks to their "feelgood grooves," melodic lines, and exciting solos. A unique harmonic universe invites listeners to imagine a dark Scandinavian sky at one moment; then, when the pulsating rhythms appear, the listeners’ imagination experiences the busy streets of New York.
Luboš Soukup – sax, clar, effects; William Larsson – keys; Jaromír Honzák – b; Daniel Johansson – dr.
