The band has been active on the European jazz scene since 2011. At Jazz Dock, you will hear Soukup's quartet featuring some of the leading Czech musicians – pianist Vítek Křišťan, guitarist David Dorůžka, bassist Jaromír Honzák, and drummer Kamil Slezák. Luboš Soukup is an innovative saxophonist and the exclusive composer of the repertoire. In 2017, he received the prestigious Talent of the Year award from the Danish Music Society, nominated by long-time Miles Davis collaborator Marilyn Mazur. The quartet has released three albums, two of which were selected as the Best Jazz Albums of the Year in the Czech Radio Critics’ Poll (Through the Mirror in 2013, Země in 2017). The band plays modern jazz and will present music from both their previous albums as well as their newest release, Scandinavian Impressions, recorded this year in collaboration with the Czech Radio Symphony Orchestra.
