Los Quemados

Filip Spálený put together this band in 2008. Since then Los Quemados has released three albums (“African Sailor” in 2010, “Sirius” in 2012, “Circling Bird” in 2015 – all on the Hevhetia label) and they’ve performed at many concerts in the Czech Republic and abroad. The band's repertoire is mostly based on originals written by Spálený or Jakub Doležal; the compositions are full of fresh melodic and harmonic ideas and the performance is always a high-octane ride on a wave of jazz-funk fusion with undoubtable instrumental skills. Personnel: Jakub Doležal – saxophone – main influences are Charlie Parker, John Coltrane or Michael Brecker; Jan Bálek – piano, keyboards – favourites are Chick Corea and Michael Jackson; Filip Spálený – electric bass – likes Victor Bailey, Felix Pastorius, Hadrien Feraud or Mike Bendy the most; Ondřej Pomajsl – drums – influenced by Vincent Colaiuta, Dave Weckl. Los Quemados members would certainly agree on listening to Weather Report, King Crimson, Frank Zappa, Dirty Loops, Tower Of Power, Pat Metheny or Tribal Tech.
