The Amplion Records label, which focuses on contemporary Czech authors in the field of jazz and similar genres, will celebrate 20 years in Jazz Dock! During the evening, three top bands will perform and two of them will christen their new albums!

Limbo (jazz - world music - improvising)

Limbo has been among the top of contemporary Czech jazz for 20 years. The band straddles several genres, in fact it is above them. The unusually cast quartet creates a universal musical collage on a jazz basis. Improvisation, composition, communication and numerous ethnic references intersect strongly throughout the band's existence, with no boundaries limiting the musicians' expression. Trends do not interest the band - they go their own way with a clear and distinct opinion. Their main inspiration in jazz history is the legendary Art Ensemble of Chicago.

František Kop Trio (modern jazz)

The leading Czech saxophonist performs this time in a trio with bass and drums. In the selection of this trio's repertoire, the emphasis is on their own compositions, which tend to make the individual pieces more elaborate. The stylistic range of the original compositions is quite wide, as they are inspired by various musical influences - blues, funk, Latin jazz or free jazz. But the ensemble also interprets some of the compositions of modern jazz greats such as J. Coltrane, W. Shorter and T. Monk.

Zuzana Dumková Band (folk - jazz - alternative music)

Singer, guitarist, composer and lyricist Zuzana Dumková has been active on the Czech music scene since the early 1990s. Her expression has crystallized from folk music through fusions of rock, jazz, world music and stage music to the current form, which cannot be clearly classified by genre. It is characterized by dynamic backing guitar, sensitive vocals and original development of musical ideas. Her debut album Balance was nominated for the Anděl genre award.
