The Brazilian phenomenon Lara Basilio will present herself to the Czech audience for the first time on the prestigious Jazz Dock stage. Lara is a guitarist who plays with hypnotic authority, heartfelt emotion, and stunning subtextual themes, reminding listeners that God loves them. Basilio's greatest strengths lie in her songs and melodies, which have the power to convey deep meaning and keep listeners engaged from start to finish. Lara has a remarkable gift for melody, skillfully blending funky riffs, smooth pop, and soft acoustic guitar with enchanting octaves, a soulful earthiness, and an impressive use of arpeggios. While references to Steve Vai and Andy Timmons are evident, Basilio is carving out her own unique musical identity. If there is one thing this Brazilian artist understands, it is that the journey through music is not an easy one—especially when significant gender disparities still exist.
