Lanugo is often described as one of the best acts in the Czech alternative pop scene. With lyrics that go deep and genre-blending music, their captivating live performances always promise a breathtaking concert experience. The band made their debut in 2009 with a self-titled album, followed by Lanugo, 2011, which was launched at the New Stage of the National Theatre and earned them a nomination for the Apollo Music Awards. An EP and the album Lanugo, 2014 followed, featuring the hit song Sára. Their latest record, Lanugo, 2019, marked a shift into uncharted sonic territory while staying true to the band's signature melancholic undertone that has consistently defined their music. The album, full of fresh sounds and playful experimentation, was featured in several polls as one of the strongest and best Czech records of 2019. "Maturity has arrived. Lanugo has recorded one of the most powerful Czech albums of the year," wrote music critic Honza Vedral in his review of the record. Lanugo is currently working on a new, yet-untitled album. Nearly a dozen new tracks are already part of their live setlist. The latest single from the upcoming album is Říjen, following previous releases Perseverance and Esse.
