Krzysztof Kobyliński a Polish pianist, composer and initiator of numerous projects in jazz, ethnic, neoclassical and electronic music, has a truly stellar reputation, having performed and recorded with such luminaries of world jazz as Randy Brecker, Mike Stern, Joey Calderazzo, Miroslav Vitouš, Paolo Fresu, Trilok Gurtu, Richard Galliano, Bireli Lagrene, Branford Marsalis and Erik Truffaz. The second part of the evening will feature the solo piano virtuoso. He can work magic with the piano. He makes it sing, makes it bloom, makes it ring in all its nuances, immersing himself in meditative, hymnic and emotional positions, not afraid of minimalism. With Jarrett's ease, he combines Mozartian openness with brooding Chopin or even medieval sacred music. Kobyliński is a superb melodist, his playing is driven by deep lyricism, soaring joy, vivid cinematicity—and then, in a flash, he comes across as urgent and predatory.
