Kilian Sladek Quartet
Firmly rooted in the tradition of jazz and its related genres, Kilian Sladek is one of the most versatile singers of his generation in Germany. The high emotionality of his artistic expression, combined with the frequent use of unconventional musical means, such as extended vocal techniques and scatting, distinguishes his music and makes it accessible to a wide audience. Since his studies at the state music academies in Munich and Riga with singers such as Anne Czichowsky, Inga Berzina and Philipp Weiss, he has already released two records: "SYLLABULISM" (Unit Records, 2020) and "SEASONS" (2022). There, influences of various scat virtuosos like Bobby McFerrin, Al Jarreau and Jon Hendricks and the sound aesthetics of the EDM genre, ambient and film music meet. Aside from multiple projects of his own across genre lines, Kilian also performs regularly as a soloist or sideman with other groups and big bands. From 2018 to 2020, he was a singer in the Bundesjazzorchester (BuJazzO) and in 2021, he was awarded the Förderpreis der Bayerischen Jazzunion.
For this tour, Kilian joins forces with the trio of young pianist Daniel Bulatkin, who is known for his collaborations with jazz&fusion superstars Ulf Wakenius, Justin Faulkner, Gary Husband, Gergo Borlai, Tineke Postma and many others, as well as his own three albums as co-leader. The group will feature original compositions from both protagonists, as well as creative takes on the Great American Songbook repertoire.
