Kick the Dock - swingová tančírna
We invite you to our new swing dance party! The name is derived from the classic dance move "Kick the Dog," signaling that Jazz Dock will be swinging to the rhythm of the good old swing!
Swing is a family of dances that developed alongside swing music in the 1920s, 30s, and 40s, with some of its forms being older. The most famous swing dance, Lindy Hop, originated in Harlem and is still popular today. Most of these dances have Afro-American roots, but some also emerged from other cultural traditions. Outside the United States, the term "swing" is commonly used for dances from this era, such as Lindy Hop, Charleston, Shag, and Balboa, and often includes West Coast Swing, East Coast Swing, Jive, Rock 'n' Roll, Modern Jive, and other dances developed after the 1940s. In Europe, Boogie Woogie and acrobatic Rock 'n' Roll are sometimes also considered swing dances.
The dance parties will take place every two months, and members of the Zig Zag dance school will guide you through the world of swing. The musical accompaniment will be provided by the fantastic band, Jakub Zomer Sextet.
Admission: seated 550 Kč, standing 300 Kč.There is no need to reserve a seat when purchasing a seating ticket.
The club will be adapted for dancing with a reduced number of seats only on the sides of the club.
