Kahoma Trio
Kahoma Trio (formerly Jan Kavka Trio) is an acoustic piano trio that draws its inspiration from interactive open music and relies on the natural possibilities of acoustic instruments. The members of the trio are well established on Czech jazz scene. The trio's debut album, Past Stories, won 2nd place in the Czech Radio poll for the best jazz album of 2018. Their latest album In the Woods has also been well received by critics not only in Czech Republic but also abroad. Jan Kavka is a jazz pianist and composer from Ostrava. He was a member of the well-known Czech jazz band Ostrich Quartet. Other members of the band are Marek Dufek (who has cooperated with Martin Chodúr, Vlastík Šmída) and Kamil Slezák (who has cooperated with Robert Balzar, Dan Bárta, Concept Art Orchestra).
