Josef Vejvoda Trio

The trio was founded in 1998 by Josef Vejvoda (the son of the world-famous polka Škoda lásky), who has been a leading drummer on many projects of the Czech jazz scene for many years. He has won many times in the All Stars Band jazz poll and he played with leading jazz musicians and ensembles in the Czech Republic and abroad. He has recorded six albums with his jazz trio, which is made up of two outstanding musicians: pianist Kryštof Marek, composer of jazz and contemporary art music, conductor, arranger and lyricist with a number of musical projects in the Czech Republic and abroad; and contrabassist Ondřej Štajnochr, a classical player as well and jazz and film music composer. The trio, which has appeared on many stages at home and abroad, will perform mainly its own repertoire influenced by a number of elements from jazz and classical music (p; b; dr).
