Josef Kolo Septet

The Josef Kolo “7tet” is paradoxically a quartet of leading Czech and Slovak jazz musicians who show their inclination to humor and the avantgarde. The sound of this formation without harmonic instruments rises from a diffusion of polyphonic lines of two tenor saxophones (Petr Kalfus + Marcel Bárta) and the interaction of a peculiar rhythmic section performed by double bass player Rasislav Uhrík and drummer Dano Šoltis. Their music is partly composed but mainly improvised, creating space for each and every concert to be an unrepeatable, unforgettable musical experience (ts; ts; b; dr).
