Jiří Šimek & Electric Madness

Guitar player and songwriter, Jiří Šimek released his debut album Electric Madness last year on the progressive label Amplion Records. Beside the traditional and dynamic trio of Šimek, drummer Dano Šoltis, and bass player Rasto Uhrik, pianist Martin Brunner has contributed to the album with enlightened performances on his Wurlitzer organ and Moog synthesizer. Šimek's clever and intriguing original compositions oscillate on the borders of jazz, funk and fusion. The trio also offers a surprisingly artful adaptation of an original song borrowed from one of the biggest rock guitar names of the Czech music scene.
