John Marshall Quintet (USA/UK/CZ)

Jazz trumpeter John Marshall (New York, 1952) has enriched countless bands since the 1970s, Buddy Rich, Lionel Hampton, Mel Lewis, Dizzy Gillespie, Gerry Mulligan, Mario Bauza, Ornette Coleman, George Coleman, Benny Goodman, among others, and from 1992 the world-renowned WDR radio-television big band in Cologne, Germany, where he has just completed his more than 25-year contract. He appears regularly in NY at Smalls jazz club and other venues. John tours and records with the finest American and European players, saxophonists Grant Stewart, Ferdinand Povel, Chris Byars, are a few. For his first concert at Jazz Dock, he invited the Czech jazz musicians: Osian Roberts - ts; Stanislav Mácha - p; Tomáš Baroš - b; Marek Urbánek - dr. The concert features typical straight-ahead jazz in top performance, and the band will play well-known jazz standards as well as some John Marshall compositions.
