JAZZ DOCK ORCHESTRA plays Count Basie
For the July concert Jazz Dock Orchestra will for the first time play classic big band music from the repertoire of the Count Basie Orchestra, featuring great arrangements by some of the writers who established the classic Basie style: Frank Foster, Quincy Jones and Neal Hefti. The band will also showcase its outstanding soloists on new, contemporary arrangements of jazz standards by Jan Jirucha and Andy Schofield.
The JAZZ DOCK ORCHESTRA has been the flagship of Jazz Dock since the beginning of its successful operation. The orchestra consists of leading players of the Czech and European jazz scenes, and the repertoire includes original compositions, as well as compositions by the world's great composers. Boldly sailing through its fourth year of existence, our resident big band plays at the Jazz Dock every third Monday of the month and has already gained a dedicated audience!
