Tribute to Trombone Giants

The May program will feature the Jazz Dock Orchestra in a special program dedicated to two legendary trombonists - Kai Winding and J. J. Johnson. The band will play a selection of songs from their collaborative album The Great Kai & J. J., and in the second half of the evening, listeners can enjoy compositions and arrangements by trombonist, composer and arranger Jan Jirucha. It will be an exceptional evening of outstanding music dedicated to one of the most distinctive instruments in jazz!

The JAZZ DOCK ORCHESTRA has been the flagship of Jazz Dock since the beginning of its successful operation. The orchestra consists of leading players of the Czech and European jazz scenes, and the repertoire includes original compositions, as well as compositions by the world's great composers. Boldly sailing through its fourth year of existence, our resident big band plays at the Jazz Dock every third Monday of the month and has already gained a dedicated audience!
