Australian jazz artists Hetty Kate (voice) and James Sherlock (guitar) have been performing together for over a decade. A masterful, lyrical and entertaining duo, they are both celebrated musicians in their own right and approach the music with joy, sensitivity and a sense of fun. Together they have played across Australia and New Zealand at major jazz clubs and festivals and collaborated on Hetty Kate’s last three albums, including her 2019 Under Paris Skies. Pure of tone and sweet sounding, jazz vocalist Hetty Kate was born in England, raised in Australia and is now based in Paris. Her warmth, natural musicality and great love for the American Songbook, finds her often referred to as ‘the real deal’ and she has built a reputation for being ‘truly one of the best swing-style singers on the current scene’ (Will Friedwald, USA). Credited with a clear and effortless voice, reminiscent of the vocalists of the 40’s and 50’s, Hetty always honors the original melody whilst making the music her own. It’s this rare quality that has seen her invited to perform internationally across Asia, Europe, North America and Australia.  Hetty Kate has released nine diverse albums and performs on stages from New York to New Zealand with her own bands and as the guest of many others.
