GROOVE DOCK – 5 YEARS SPECIAL ANNIVERSARY EDITION!
The fifth anniversary of Groove Dock will introduce one of the most active members of jazz dance community: dancer, teacher and DJ, Marina Pravkina. On March 9th, Marina will lead a jazz dance workshop followed by the 60th edition of the Groove Dock party in Jazz Dock, where she will be accompanied by Mr. Ultrafino and percussionist Papis Nyass.
Marina Pravkina – dancer, choreographer, DJane and dance teacher specializing in UK Bebop Jazz dance and other fusion jazz and street dance styles. With her crew Matryoshki in Jazz she has introduced her unique dance style in performances in Russia, Europe and Japan. Nowadays, Marina and her crew are the only all-female team in Europe representing the UK Bebop Jazz dance style. Apart from dancing and teaching, Marina also DJs and organizes the jazz-related musical and dance project JazzBetween.
Mr. Ultrafino – Groove Dock resident, co-creator of the Prague jazz/funk DJ scene, strictly vinyl player with more than two decades of musical experience. His sets are built mainly on 60's and 70's funk, soul and jazz, but they might be just as well spiced up with disco, hiphop, latin, reggae and rare obscurities from pretty much any musical genre.
Papis Nyass – drummer, percussionist, dancer and multi-talented musician born in Gambia. He specializes in African percussions such as conga, bonga, djembe, sabar and marimba, and has been a regular co-player with such names as Lenka Dusilová, Ephraim Goldinor or Alan Vitouš.
