Futur Swing – CD release concert
Futur Swing will christen their first album Don’t Hate Me in Jazz Dock! The ceremony will be conducted by the one and only Ivan Mládek, who is a long time fan of the band.
Futur Swing's repertoire is primarily inspired by the music of Django Reinhardt (1910-1953). They approach these now almost a hundred years old compositions with improvisational freedom, playfulness and humor, trying to push the traditional gypsy-jazz idiom in new directions (sometimes bordering with the avant-garde), but also with the intent of maintaining the more conservative aspects of the music. Five acoustic instrument (guitar, banjo, violin, bass, saxophone) create a colorful sound collage with which the band works through arrangements, instrumentation and improvisation.
Tomáš Mika – banjo; Martin Hrubec – g; Milan Jakeš – vln; Ondřej Komárek – b; Michal Wroblewski – sax.
Admission: seating CZK 350, standing CZK 200. There is no need to reserve a seat when purchasing a seating ticket.
