Flaco de Nerja Curiosity Quartet
JAZZ OF FOUR CONTINENTS
Flaco de Nerja’s "Curiosity Quartet" presents modern guitar, influenced by Flamenco and Jazz. The program contains original compositions, as well as novel arrangements of classics by Paco de Lucia, Miles Davis and Chick Corea. The love of improvisation reflects the musicianship of the artists and makes every concert a unique experience. Strongly influenced by the music of virtuoso Paco de Lucia, Flaco studies Flamenco music autodidactically. Proof of his extraordinary talent became known in 2001 and 2004, when he reached the final round of Spanish Flamenco guitar’s most important competition, the Concurso Nacional del Arte Flamenco de Cordoba. Flaco grew up with classical music, jazz, flamenco and traditional Roma music. The influences of these different styles are audible in his compositions, making his pieces truly unique. That uniqueness has opened doors for Flaco to the best ensembles and soloists of the present, ranging from baroque orchestra “L`Arpeggiata,” the Moscow Symphony Orchestra, and Antonio Rey, to the “Janoska Ensemble” and the most important concert halls worldwide. His concerts have been broadcasted live on French national radio “Radio Culture France” and on the TV station “TV2 France.”
