EUROPE BLUES TRAIN FESTIVAL
Michael Hardie & Joe Kučera
Desperate Blues Girls
8PM - Michael Hardie & Joe Kučera
Michael Hardie is first and foremost a song writer with a global view who always lets his Texas roots shine through his music. He writes about a variety of subjects, always focusing on the underlying love that we all need in our lives. For this reason many of his songs are about personal relationships and the joy and struggle of sharing life with those we love. Michael’s career as blues musician started in Houston, Texas in the early ‘70’s at age 19 where he opened for Blues Legend Lightnin’ Hopkins. In1991, Wolfgang Doebling, editor of the German Rolling Stone Magazine, heard his album "Houston Blues" and invited him to Berlin for the B.I.D. music conference. Moving to the east part of Berlin in June, 1992 was the beginning of a wanderlust that found him going back and forth from Texas to Berlin for the next 2 decades and recently also to Brazil. During the past decades Michael has lived in every major music capital in the U.S. (New York, Los Angeles, Nashville & Austin) and has recorded his songs with greats such as Chuck Rainey, Stephen Bruton and Milton Hopkins (cousin of Lightnin’ and former rhythm guitarist for B.B King). On the success of latest album “Real", which reached #26 on the top 100 Albums on the Americana Roots Charts for 2014, Michael has signed with Worldhaus Music and will release a new album "Seven Songs for Sylvia" in 2016 which marks his 8th original album in 50 years of his professional music career.
Michael Hardie will play with saxophonist Joe Kučera.
