Ethan Iverson/Joe Sanders/Jorge Rossy (USA)
JAZZ OF FOUR CONTINENTS
Great new trio—Ethan Iverson, Joe Sanders and Jorge Rossy—reunited to present a repertoire of standards and original compositions. Ethan Iverson is a pianist, composer and writer who attended SJW in the early ‘90s. Prior to forming Bad Plus, he was a student of Fred Hersch and Sophia Rosoff. He has worked with artists such as Billy Hart, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Tim Berne, Mark Turner, Ben Street, Lee Konitz, Paul Motian, Charlie Haden, and SJW’s own Albert “Tootie” Heath. Jorge Rossy is internationally recognized as one of the most influential drummers of his generation. His sideman work includes over 80 recordings with renowned jazz musicians such as Brad Mehldau, Kevin Hays, Albert Sanz, Mark Turner, Chris Cheek, Seamus Blake, Joshua Redman and Steve Swallow. Joe Sanders has made a name for himself through his versatility, dedication and steady pulse. He is, without doubt, one of the most sought-after young bass players of his generation. He has played, recorded and toured with many great musicians: to name a few, Ravi Coltrane, Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Dave Brubeck, Jimmy Heath, Mulgrew Miller, Geri Allen, Jeff "Tain" Watts, Karriem Riggins, Nicholas Payton, Roy Hargrove and Gerald Clayton.
