Epoque Quartet 25 years

The Epoque Quartet celebrates 25 years and invites you to a birthday party!  The program of the whole afternoon and evening will take place on both floors of the Jazz Dock—and during the program guests will have the opportunity to enjoy not only the music of the birthday celebrants themselves, but also the performances of a number of nice congratulators. Among others, there will be Dasha, Robert Balzar, Jan Kučera and Irvin Venyš. The last part of the celebration will be a jam session without any genre boundaries.

During its existence, the Epoque Quartet has found a firm place on the Czech and European music scenes. It has significantly pushed the boundaries of the quartet repertoire and profiled itself as a top-notch ensemble, which has been invited to collaborate by a number of great musicians from various branches of the music industry. Four outstanding soloists and chamber players with extensive stage experience were brought together in 1999 not only by a commonality of opinion and an affinity of artistic nature, but above all by an extraordinary enthusiasm for genres not usually classified under the heading of "classical music"—jazz, rock and funk. Although the compositions of classical quartet literature remain an integral part of the ensemble's programs, its sensitive approach to non-traditional arrangements brings new possibilities for the use of string instruments and at the same time allows for an unprecedented breadth of repertoire, unique on Czech and foreign stages.

Admission: seating CZK 600, standing CZK 300. There is no need to reserve a seat when purchasing a seating ticket.
