David Dorůžka Trio
NEW „Autumn Tales“ CD RELEASE

Guitarist and composer DAVID DORŮŽKA, whose significance and activities reach well beyond the  Czech music scene, will present the concert premiere of the program from his new CD AUTUMN TALES. He will share the stage with his colleagues who recorded with him, bassist JIŘÍ SLAVÍK and drummer MARTIN NOVÁK. The CD Autumn Tales was released on the Animal Music label at the end of 2016 and has been called “a masterpiece” by the server Lidovky.cz. For the occasion of the release concert, the trio will be joined by saxophonist Luboš Soukup. Dorůžka’s three older CDs have received the Anděl awards for the Best jazz album of the year, as a sideman Dorůžka has appeared on more than 25 CDs. Dorůžka’s current trio stands out because of its unusually dynamic and sensitive interplay, deeply rooted in the jazz tradition, yet open to experiments and borrowing from other musical genres, ranging from rock influences and Middle Eastern grooves to adaptations of folk melodies and classical pieces.
