Cyrille Oswald Quartet
Dutch/French saxophonist Cyrille Oswald formed his Czech quartet after moving to Prague in 2008. He picked his favorite musicians on the Czech jazz scene: guitarist David Dorůžka (twice winner of the Anděl music award), drummer Dano Šoltis (Vertigo Quintet, Lenka Dusilová) and bassist Tomáš Liška (Invisible World Quartet, Pente, Milokraj). They released their first album, The Wrong Present, in 2010 with Animal Music. All material is composed by Cyrille Oswald, and is influenced by many styles, an eclectic mix of modern jazz, world and ethnic music. At this concert, the band will present some brand-new compositions to be recorded and released in the months ahead. Cyrille Oswald is founding member of the band Cirilic and plays in the New Rotterdam Jazz Orchestra, the Petr Beneš quartet, the Daniel Bulatkin Quartet and participates in many other projects.
