Concept Art Orchestra - The Prague Six
Remembering Jan Zrzavy
Concept Art Orchestra is a 16-piece Czech jazz big band focused on presenting new works of contemporary Czech composers. Under the direction of Stepanka Balcarova, the renowned players of the local scene perform melodic pieces spread across genres and influenced by Bob Brookmeyer or Maria Schneider. Last year, the CAO's last CD "The Prague Six" received the prestigious Andel music prize.
Paintings by the famous Czech artist Jan Zrzavy (1890–1977) inspired Stepanka Balcarova to write a 4-part music cycle. The concert corresponds with Zrzavy's 50th death anniversary. Special guest: Marta Klouckova (vocal). In the second part of the evening, the CAO will perform their long-time favorites by the members of The Prague Six composer's collective.
Admission seating CZK 300, standing CZK 200.
