Concept Art Orchestra

The Concept Art Orchestra is a 16-piece Czech jazz big band focused on presenting new works of contemporary Czech composers. Under the direction of Štěpánka Balcarová, these renowned players of the local scene perform melodic pieces spread across genres and influenced by the likes of Bob Brookmeyer and Maria Schneider. The CAO's latest CD The Prague Six received the prestigious Anděl Music Prize. Concept Art Orchestra presents a brand new program  NaHlas written for singers Małgorzata Hutek and Marta Kloučková. Pieces feature poems and lyrical texts by Julian Tuwim or Bo Carpelan.
